Delighted to be working with Glasgow Caledonian University

I am really pleased to be able to say that I am working with one of the top universities. Everyone I meet seems to have a good story to tell about the place. I am going to be working on a project to use podcasting to support the student experience. This means lots of talking to people about what worked for them, what they would pass on as good advice and so on. Just listening to students and staff, so far, everyone has got some great ideas.

The big idea is simple. If you want advice, guidance or general information; who better to go to than someone who has been there, done it and got the T-shirt. To capture the 'authentic voice' of the students, it's obvious we are going to talk to students, former students and staff who can share from their experience. Naturally, I am excited because there are lots of interesting stories to tell - want to join in - email me.

But, practising what I preach; here's some of my thoughts in a minute or less....

Writing for the's cuffs and collars

Another interesting conversation to relate. A client was moaning about the lack of profile, his web site seemed to be getting. Unloved by search engines and site visitors declining; all seemed lost. A quick check of his meta tags and key words revealed the simple truth. His site was selling one thing to its human visitors and another to the search bots. Tag appropriately, freshen up the text from time to time and do some housekeeping are the best ways to ensure regular visitors of any persuasion.
