Careers week...it's here !!!!!

From Monday 3 December, there will be lots of career type stuff going on in the LRC. Be sure to check it out because there is literally something for everyone...if you are thinking about university or college...they are coming along...may be something in the building or motor trade...they will be there. If you are just starting to think or if you have made your mind up, come along.
Mrs Pieroni was kind enough to give us a lot more details in the short interview.

Rachel met Murdo Fraser

Rachel met Murdo Fraser MSP and interviewed him for our podcasts. Murdo was so impressed, he actually wrote about it in this week's Blairgowrie Advertiser. The words "Jeremy Paxman" were used, so Rachel must be getting a reputation..listen and see what you think.

Here comes the judge

By now , you all know we came SECOND in the Bar National  Mock Trial heat in Glasgow. Before the event we got exclusive access to some of the people in one of the cases. Strict court procedures meant we had to record some pieces clandestinely and some pieces secretly. The quality is not too good but we felt it was more important to let you, the great Blair public hear the truth.
First of all, we bumped into a couple of court reporters, hanging about the court room. This is what they told us.

Next, you can hear the testimony itself...this is a long listen and we recorded it as it happened with all the distractions and noises of the real court atmosphere.

As time pressed on, this was a lunchtime recording, we had a chance to hear the prosecution make their case.

Finally, Pamela and Marta managed to catch Mrs Young to explain the  details of the competition.

Space hats interviewed

As you will all be aware, the Space Project was great fun. The hats and the Space Walk were appreciated by everyone who saw them. Our intrepid reporters Gareth and Amber found the posse who wore the hats. They told us what it was like to be up in front of everyone.

Caroline, Jenny, Mellissa, Beth, Amanda, Katie, and Nicole all took part in the Royal Mail Award for Scottish Childrens' Books. You can find out about the books they read here. They also dropped into the LRC Studio to share there thoughts.

Declan - the winner of the Space Project - meets Mrs Pieroni

Declan  won the Space Project with a superb presentation and came into the LRC studio to talk to Mrs Pieroni about the secrets of his success and why his planet proved so attractive to the people who voted for it. Mrs Pieroni is seen here modeling one of the  hats from the  Space Walk. We have some interviews with the  Space Walkers next week. Watch this space. Love movies ? Love talkin' about them ?

The Podcast Posse are movie goers. And they love to talk and tell everyone why their favourites are best.So, if you are an aspiring Jonathan Ross then come along to the LRC on November 22 at lunchtime for the recording of the Podcast Movie Special. The movies we are discussing are the new Pixar flick, "Rataouille" and the surprise hot "Stardust" ( some of which was shot in Scotland ). Is a rat's tale better than falling stars ? Are cartoon animations for kids ? Is there only one Johnny Depp ? You don't have to have seen either, both or any to take part...just come along.

The audience liked the Space Projects evening

You can see that it was a packed hall when the Space Projects were unveiled to an appreciative audience. Our roving reporter, Amber, spoke to a number of parents and got their feedback about the presentations, what they liked and even the new Head Teacher. You hear the buzz around the hall as our reporter asked some tough questions.
